Letni Uniwersytet Attac [en]
It all starts of with the question of Social Europe: We are looking at the current situation in terms of social security and solidarity. Is there a common denominator in the comparison of the welfare systems of the different countries, and what do we need to know about the situation among our European neighbours? To speak on this first forum are invited Kenneth Haar (Attac Denmark), Ricardo Gómez (Attac Spain), Michela Marksová-Tominová (Karat Coalition, Czech Republic) and Ewa Ziółkowska (Attac Poland),
The second forum will deal with Offensives and Alternatives: In the present Europe of liberalism member states are presently engaging in a race to the bottom in vital areas like taxation and social policy. The privatisation of public services is one component of this policy. It is crucial that countermeasures are taken at the EU- and Europe-wide level, and that a race to the top is facilitated by specific regulation. To this discussion will contribute Francine Mestrum (Attac Flanders), Pierre Khalfa (Attac France), Marco Bersani (Attac Italy) and Roman Kuenzle (Attac Switzerland).
The third forum will deal with challenges in the Labour Market: Maria Walberg (Attac Norway) will focus on the question “ How does the future of the European trade union movement look like ? ” Claudine Blasco (member of the group "gender and globalisation" from Attac France) and Henri Houben (Attac Belgium) will talk about migration, employment and competitiveness.
